Fun Times...

So, my name is Beth and I thought it would be fun to have a blog to share some of my witty, not-so-witty and (most likely) head scratching observations on life. Because there aren't enough people out there who are already doing this. Clearly, with all of the thousands of funnier, more insightful and diligent "webaristas" out there, I don't plan on cornering the market nor will I reinvent the proverbial wheel. In fact, whether I have zero followers or one hundred, I really don't mind. As a mother of two young children, I'm simply looking for an outlet for my thoughts which are usually intended for an audience with more life experience than a 3 year old... even if it's just myself. How does that saying go? "Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused." Exactly.

Dirty, Dirty Soap

Recently, while cleaning the bathroom, I picked up the tiny sliver of soap that usually ends up on the bottom of the shower. You know, that sad piece of soap that gets whittled down to almost nothing. It's totally useless for its intended purpose, yet you refuse to throw it away. Either because you're too lazy to get rid of it after you replace it with a brand new bar, or you're having an unspoken battle with your partner to see which of you will break down and throw it out first. In my house, it usually stays on the bottom of the shower until it melts down to near-nothing and slips down the drain. I know, we're both that stubborn. Anyway, this time, I was feeling particularly charitable and selflessly chose to rid our shower (and our lives) of that stand off. This time. Anyway, after throwing it in the garbage, I actually caught myself using hand soap to remove the soapy residue left on my fingers...

Really?

Maybe all of that self congratulation I was feeling at the time stripped me of my common sense.

Ehh, whatever. I'm still the bigger person.
